GCVW For 2005 3500 DRW

Does any one know how to obtain the Gross Combined Vehicle Rating for a 2005 3500 DRW Quad Cab 5.9 HO ? The GVWR on the door jamb sticker is 12,200#. Does not say anything about the Combined Rating. Called Dodge Customer service and they said its max trailer capacity is 13,800# with the 3.73 gears. They are not able to give me any documentation so i can have the inspection station sign off on it. I am trying to get the correct weight class on the title for PA. Any help is appreciated.

I don't know for 2005. But, for 2004:

DRW --->GVWR = 12000
GCWR= 21000 (with 3.73) max trailer=13450 (auto)
GCWR= 23000 (with 4.10) max trailer=15450 (auto)

200lbs less on trailer wt with M6 (manual trans weighs more).

I don't know if this helps as these are for 2004. I didn't think they changed for 2005, but your door jamb sticker differs from the guide I found as does your number for the max trailer weight.

I don't think the GCWR relates much to the GVWR as the SRW trucks have the same 21000 and 23000 GCWR as the DRW even though their GVWR is only 9900lbs. In fact, because the SRW trucks are lighter, the max trailer wt ratings are a bit higher. This is all according to the 2004 Dodge Trailer Towing guide. There's a pdf available at:

Thumbs up 2005 Gross Combined Wt. Rating

I suggest you try: www.dodge.com.bodybuilder/year.pdf.

That should give you what you need and it's printable, as in documentation.

The rated GCVW is 21000 for 3.73, 23000 for 4.10's and an auto. Its 23000 for the manual with 3.73's.

Thats Dodge's rating, for commercial probably 30k is what you license it for.
