If you think 3000 is crazy you should hear them at 3800. Thats as far as mine will rev.

With my 410s I think I recall being at around 2450 for 75 mph... does it drop that much @ 70 mph (2100?)

2400 rpms is about right for 75mph. With the 3.73 mine is around 2200 rpms with the stock tires.

3800!!! Wow, you guys are scarin' me. We had a cummins genset blow sky high at 3800 when the motorman lost his grip on the govenor. He didn't need a haircut for months.

I'm trying to get a program so I can turn 4k. Given you will need a few mods to turn that but the cummins can handle that no problem. The only thing that sucks is that when you rev up that high it will stay there for a few seconds to get rid of the extra fuel. Kinda scarry but it saves the turbo when pulling as you don't get as much turbo bark.

I don't really have an occasion to go 108MPH anyway... but what is RPM in the lower gears (redline) ?
Try cruising at 3k RPM. It should really be smooth.

Accelerating to 3k may sound like it's going to "blow up", but staying at that RPM is really smooth.

10-4 on that. I’m looking at the G56 service manual and it says the only items serviceable on the countershaft are the bearings. 6th gear on the main shaft looks easy to replace, 6th on the countershaft looks easy too, but it is on a non-serviceable shaft assembly.

I guess you’d have to buy 6th for the main and the entire countershaft. I’m thinking this would be expensive, plus you’d be meshing new gears with old. I guess buying the GV OD wasn’t a mistake, lol.

I find that towin heavy with the nv there seems to be a "gap" at around 60mph, to high for fifth and low for sixth
