G56 service

Did a search on this but didn't find a whole lot. The G56 is ready for a service and I am wondering what the high mileage guys are running. Amsoil in everything including diffs and transfer case also? Or is there something else I should look in too?

I have not used anything but the AMSOIL ATF in my G-56... Never has given me an ounce of problems..

I will agree with Roperteacher for Amsoil ATF in the g56 as I have one and used Amsoil. But, I recently installed Redline C+ATF and noticed a DEFINITE MPG increase (small) and even a little bit more response on the pedal. The performance is about the same as far as shifting goes, though- so take your pick.

Don't get the overfilling issue confused with the NV5600 threads!! Some NV guys are overfilling because if you are towing up a steep incline the fluid starves the front bearings or something.. LOLOL The G-56 takes 6 quarts. I pumped in 6 quarts on level ground and it still didn't come ou tthe hole. I put in about a half a quart more and it began to run out so I plugged it and off I went!

Yes, I run the same ATF in my 2002 transfer case. Between the 06 I had and the new 07 I only have about 20,000 combined miles on the ATF in the G-56.. lots of pulling and seems OK!

IIRC, I put in two and a bit or tight around two. It was pretty hot that day.

Go to Amsoil.com, you can put in your zip code to find your nearest dealer.
