G56 Leaking??

I've got an 07 5.9 4X4 with the G56. Yesterday I was walking past it, and just happened to notice a small wet spot underneath it. So I crawled under there and the front of my transmission is wet with a slight steady drip coming off of it. Anyone else had this problem? What is it, just a seal? I took it in today to the dealer, and they said it prolly won't be covered under warranty?? Said on the 06/07s they switched from a 70,000 mile drivetrain warranty, to a 36,000. Thats some BS. I know on my 05 I had a completely new tranny put in at like 50,000 under warranty. My truck now has 48,000 on it. Any advice on what it is, and how hard it is to fix, or what all you have to do? Thanks

It could possibly be that coolant hose near the passenger rear of your engine. It makes it's way to the Trans and drips, Another option I have read on here is the very top of the trans where the rubber boot covers in the cab has also been known to crack, leak down like you describe. I have an 07 with the same mileage as you.

Ya after looking at it, I think its either coolant, or maybe the hydraulics leaking. When I first looked I saw that it was red, and thought about auto tranny fluid. But now I think its either coolant, or its maybe the hydraulics leaking. I can't find anywhere where the tranny might be leaking, so I think its fine. On that coolant hose, is there a way to tighten it up to where it won't leak. i did notice yesterday that my coolant reservoir was low, so I think thats what it is. thanks

I had to replace the shift boot on my truck. You could see the leak all the way down the side of the tranny from the top of the shift tower.

I would imagine that the coolant leak would be limited to the bell housing.

I had that drip, and it was coolant. I was afraid it was from the head or something more serious, but then I searched on here. 06 and 07 have are known to have that hose leak.

Down by the turbo you will see about a 10" long piece of what looks like 5/8 coolant hose.

Tighten up both clamps.

Ok cool thanks. I figured it was coolant, but didn't know where it was coming from, but I knew my coolant reservoir was low
