Hey 30+hooks to the sled and a rough hook...thats my first carnage.
I would say the U joints, driveshafts are very tough.

My NV5600 will be alive and kicking when your Gunk 56 has been resurrected 3 times over as a budweiser can.

Yeah shaft was stock. The Joints were not.
I am for one glad the U joint at the transfer case failed.
Something had to go and I am glad it wasnt the rear end or the transfer case.
I would much rather buy a new driveshaft and U joints than a new transfer case.

You wont here me whining though about paying for new parts. Its part of the game. I dont take mine to the dealer and beg for warranty.
I fix the stuff, buy new parts and move on the to the next pull.

You've got the right attitude - no whiners allowed!

I've often wondered about the sense of designing a "weak link" in the drivetrain so you don't grenade the high-dollar stuff... all breakage hurts (I feel your pain ), but the stuff you tore up on that pull is chump change compared to most of the rest of the "drive chain".

Still, it sucks to spill your beer money all over the dirt.

I have single bar traction bars and during that pull if you notice the truck has its butt way up in the air...thats from 8" suspension blocks (blocked solid).
I also had about 1100 lbs hanging off of my weight rack up front.

That track was super sticky and the sled super heavy, my tires also have a reputation for being parts breakers when the moon and stars line up like that.
I wasnt the only 3rd gen that broke last night.
There were also alot of other diesels that broke.

Nope, ain’t gonna happen. I sold my last truck @ 96K miles (about half that towing 10-12K lbs) and the original clutch and brake pads were still going strong, and the original tires lasted to about 60K miles. To me it’s a tool, not a toy and I take care of my tools.

I’m real easy on my stuff….never did understand why ppl enjoy tearing their trucks up. But hey keep it up if ya got the money…..it’s fun to watch!

I'm not sure they ENJOY tearing up their machines, but if your goal is to go fast, run quick, pull hard or tow heavy - you'll do what's necessary to get there. We ran our muscle cars as hard as we could, and kept fixing them until we ran out of weak links or money, whichever came first. Next paycheck same thing, repeat until satisfied - until marraige, kids, jail time or the odd hospital visit rains on your parade

I'm just jealous cause I won't abuse my trucks like these guys do, since I use them to put bread in our bellies!

You're not supposed to mention that. The dealer that talked about having a rash of problems with nv5600's coming into his shop is also not supposed to talk about that. After all, the 5600 is infallible. Don't forget it.
