Silly me!

So how many feet does the NV5600 go before it breaks?

Should those of us stuck with a "G-unit" be concerned once we've made it past 200 miles?

Their must be something wrong with the G56 in my truck It shifts good doesn't make any funny noises And the clutch still works. What can I do I tried everything. pulling 36000+ in 112 degree heat in overdrive (I had a little bit more then 300 feet to go) Even went to a sled pull came in first , so I can't suck to bad. I just cant figure out why the G56 outlasted the nv5600 in my 04. And I know its a g56 it say bud light on the side

My stock G56, and stock clutch held great today and managed a 491HP 1019lb/ft run on the dyno today. The clutch did NOT slip, this scares me.

Are you SURE you don't have an NV5600 under there?!
Conventional wisdom says the G-units aren't capable of handling those power levels.

Hint: Reverse is next to your hip...

... almost forgot to ask - have ya got more than 200 miles on it yet?

I have pulled the last three weekends and havent broke anything I couldnt do that with the g unit and about the nv5600s breaking yeah im sure there are some but they have been out since 01 so there are a lot more of them out there the gunit is a year and a half out. I thought the gs were the best too till i broke two of them and they probably still are I just had a streak of bad luck.

I am positive its a G56. Aluminum case and all. It makes a funny noise in 6th gear, but other than that it has held up great. A couple of sled pulls, some decent towing numbers, and lots of street pounding and its still under the truck and still in tact. I have to say that I love mine. The noise just sounds like a syncronizer assembly once it gets good and broken in to me. and yes, this thing has more than 200 miles on it. 25,000 plus miles to be exact on the factory oil. I did check the oil once though just to make sure they did fill it up. I will post up the dyno sheet monday. I know the dyno numbers are somwhat acurate cause we know what Streetsmokers truck is putting out and he hit his target on this dyno just like his last dyno run.

Ah Haaaaa. Good for you bigd6.6! Now we are getting somewhere! So, luck does play into all of our lives, huh?

DmaxEter: I eagerly await the dyno sheet showing over 1K ft. lbs. Very impressive through the stock clutch!

I never believed guys when they said they were making astonomical numbers with just some fueling boxes and very little mods, but now I do. I have the truck strait piped with the cat still in place when these numbers were made. We did disconnect the air breather top being that it is the stock box with the original air filter and let it breath in. Oh yea, I have removed the baffle in the intake tube and the silencer ring. I could not believe it and neiter could anyone else until the numbers were posted. I have been running these two boxes on the street and have not managed to slip the clutch yet. I know it dont like it, but it hasnt slipped? Go figure. I guess mine was built on tuesday?

Stock run just the strait pipe. 290HP, 561Ft/lb
One power adder with stock intake connected. 428HP, 833ft/lb
Second power adder intake open. 491HP, 1019ft/lb

DmaxEater - is your short or long bed empty?

Do you know what your curb weight is?

How many miles have you been running those high #s, and how often do you turn up the boxes for spirited driving?

My truck is a regular cab long bed dually, I dont know for sure the curb weight, but I estimate somwhere around 7500-8000lbs. I have been running the 428HP box for about 7months and yesterday was the first day to run both and get the 1019 torque numbers. I dont drive like most with my single box. I leave it on and it is there when I need it and I need it a lot! I dont baby it and that may be why the G56 is making a wierd noise now. But the noise is only in 6th gear, and it is not noticed by anyone else. I get everyone to listen to it but they dont hear it like I do. Go figure.

I am gonna start another thread in the perfomance forum to discuss this further. I want to hear the opinions on this topic of how I made those torque numbers with the stock clutch but we are getting off topic here I think.
