G56 Stock clutch question

Truck has 35k miles. I drive a lot of back roads requiring lots of shifting. At times clutch pedal feels notchy, that is, about half way down I feel a bind and release in the clutch pedal. Also at times it seems that the clutch drags a bit making it hard to make a clean shift. The notchy feeling seems to be related to heat as it seems worse after I've been driving a while. Any ideas?
Thanks, Ted

Have you checked your tranny oil? I've heard of some 07's coming from the factory with not enough oil in the tranny whether its bull or not. The G56 is just a notchy transmission to begin with but I still love mine anyways...

Thanks but trans. fluid level is good and fluid has been changed. The clutch pedal it self has a catch and release feel to it at times. My guess is that the throwout bearing is binding on the guide tube or there is a problem with the hydralics. It seems to me someone else must have run into this and knows what the fix is.

Mine did this twice. then i found 2 dow pins in the bell housing. took it to dealer and they said they came out of the flywheel.

it did it after a lot of stop and go driving, after i shut it down then jumped back in it after 5 or 10 min.

dealer told me that "pulling heavy or riding the clutch will weld the friction disk to the flywheel and cause that" what ever

I'm no expert, but if it was the throw-out bearing binding on it's tube, I could see that causing the binding feel in the pedal, but would it cause the clutch to drag once the clutch pedal was on the floor?

Could it be a problem with the master or slave cylinder? If there was a rough spot in either cylinder... could that cause both symptoms?

Jeff I don't know. Could be although unlikely, I have more than one problem. I should also mention that at times the clutch is a little grabby (chatters a little pulling out) I'm not sure, but this may be at it's worst when the shifting is at it's most notchy. It is doing both right now. I don't see any oil leakage that could get on the clutch and make it grabby.

Maybe it might be a good time to replace the whole thing with a soutbend or something?

I'd have thought you would have gotten a longer life out of it than that, though, even if you tow a lot...
