I don't care for K&N products but it is amazing how much total BS is slung on this site.
Hey WhoozYaDaddy take a minute to read things before throwing the BS line out. What's the difference in draining the filter or draining the engine back through the filter? Without a anti drain back valve tha engine above the top of the filter will be drained of oil causing a dry start. While I agree that there's not very much engine above the top of the filter and it won't really be a problem on these engines I was just giving you Cummins' reasoning for it. Besides, it doesn't matter what we think. There isn't but one thing we can do about this and that's to,make sure we use approved oil filters.

I have asked this question at least 5-6 times on this post alone, can someone please tell me where (from Cummins or Chrysler) is it written where a filter without an anti-drainback valve will void the warrenty. David if someone can show me I will apologize for my accusations. The problem is no one can. And as for your comment about back flow, not only is it not true but makes absolutely no sense. So here is my agreement, show me a where it is written from Dodge or Cummins and I will apologize but if you can't please don't post absolute idiocy.

The Fleetguard filters don't have a anti-drainback vavle that I know of.

I usually wait overnight to change my oil so oil doesn't pour out of the filter. It'll be like 1" or so from the top. If it had this valve, this wouldn't happen.

Just to lighten things up a bit, a flat o-ring is not an o-ring. It is a rubber washer, a seal or even a gasket. Sure it's in the shape of an o, but the material is in the shape of a square or rectangle. O-ring material is in the shape of an o, hence the name. I guess you could call it a circle ring, but no one would know what you're talking about. Wow, I must have had too much caffine today.

Yep, doesn't need to, it is vertically mounted filter that stays full after the engine is off. This whole post is a joke, D45 made this up and Davidj54 had to add a line of BS to it. If what David said were the case, the oil levels shown on a dipstick would show a different oil level with the same amount of oil with a K&N filter as compared to another filter. I have asked D45 several times through private message where the anti-drainback warrenty void is posted and he cannot provide proof. This website is good but reader beware that you hear quite a bit of absolute Bullsh-- that is written as truth!

OK, I'll stay on topic, as I would also like to know like to know where it says in the Cummins warranty that you have to have an AD valve. Doesn't Cummins own Fleetguard? If the FG's and the Mopar filters don't have AD valves I don't see how Cummins could enforce this part of the warranty.

The Fleetguard LF 16035 does not have an anti- drain back valve. I just cut one open to see. I am a mechanic with 30 years experience, ASE certs and lots of classes, etc, so I might have a clue about what one looks like. Y'all are going to force me to buy new batteries for my camera, ain't ya?
