Fuse for ignition circuit blew.

I have a ham radio in my 05 and the radio has a "white noise" on a certain frequency that is constant anytime the key is on, doesn't matter if engine is running or not. It is so loud that I cannot squelch out the noise.

In trying to find the problem circuit I had the key on, engine off, door open, window down, and ham radio on and tuned way up so I could hear it from under the hood.

I started pulling fuses and when I pulled a spare fuse the noise on the radio stopped so I thought I found the problem until I read the cover and saw that the fuse was a spare. I looked in the truck and the radio was still on but my dash lights were off and no start plus the open door dinger started dinging. So I found the ignition fuse and it was blown. I put the spare fuse in and the dash lights came back along with the ham radio noise and it started fine.

So how did the fuse blow when I pulled the spare fuse and what all is in the ignition circuit that should be on when the engine is not running so I can start tracing down the problem? Temp was over 90 degrees.

in the late 05's with the tipm there are several different oscillators in both the tipm and the ecm, the ecm is well shielded but the tipm has nothing, pull it out and look at it, the entire board is covered in plc's, even the windshield wiper motor is controlled by this board, if you loose your wipers and it is not the grease problem on the wiper switch it will cost you about $1200. get or make a isolator for the trailer lights or that will cost you to loose one. everything on the board is lsi and encapsulated, because these logic chips are feeding high power semiconductors be very careful what you do to suppress the rfi

Thanks for the info I will check it out.

Any ideas on why the fuse blew when I pulled out a spare fuse? When I looked in the hole there was metal on one side only.
