Gentleman, let's not get off track here. It looks like Truckjunkie is a shredding victim like some of us.
Let me say it ONE last time:
YES, the chirp is NORMAL. On MOST vehicles, it will do no harm. SOME engines that MAY have a weak, defective, or otherwise sunstandard AND/OR improperly installed belt, the STRAIN that causes the chirping MAY contribute to premature belt failure. The RIBBED belts seem to chirp MORE than the crosshatched belts, which chirp less.
