Mine only let a few drops out the first time I changed filter so when I put it back together I turned key on with valve open to run LP and it works good now. Thier must have been a restriction but that got rid of it. I just change it again last week and open the valve and it drained right out.

OK Dumb Newbe question..
My first diesel, when draining the water out do you wait till theres no fuel coming out or do you have to go under the truck and watch for the change in color? from water to diesel.. Laugh now
also when you change the fuel filter is the cylinder empty after draining ?
thanx and were can you put the waste..its been going in my driveway not good.

There are no dumb newbie questions, only dumb newbies.
You can't really visually tell if it is water or Diesel coming out.
Best way is to drain it into a clear container, 20oz soda bottle works great.
Then let it sit a while, water will go to the bottom, as oil floats on water, and Diesel fuel is oil.
The water content should be so small, that if there is any water, it will present as tiny droplets towards the bottom of the container.
Yes, if you drain it till nothing more comes out, the cannister is empty, and must be primed before the engine will start.
The contents of the soda bottle work great as a spot weed killer for the driveway.
