fuel mileage with a cummins crew cab

crew cab short bed 4x4...... What kind of fuel mileage with the ho and the 600. I currently have a ford 7.3, but i am curious what you guys get. With my cc short bed, 6spd, i get 18.3 at 69 mph. How does this compare. I hear you guys have the mileage.

I would think without a heavy foot you will be over 20 easy with a 4wd. My 2wd I can get up to 25-26 cruising the interstate.

HOW?? If I had all day to poke along at 65 I can get close to 25, but man, I *do* want to get to my destination eventually!

On my last trip to Seattle I was a little above 22 doing 70-75. I think we are still getting winter fuel although we're in the 50s quite a bit. I have gained about 1 mpg due to break-in and BOMBs such as Aeroturbine, TAG and Bomber Lite turbo.

doing 70 to 73 in mine, I pull 22 to 23mpg. Once I hit the 75mph mark, it drops to about 21mpg. Keep in mind I only have 3k on the truck so far, so surely itwill increase some still........

These figures are crazy... mine is a dually 4x4 with the 48re and I get 14 in town and no more than 16.5 to 17 at 70mph at 2000 rpm. I can see 1 mpg or so difference in these trucks but holy cow.. 5 mpg difference is huge. these guys who say they are doing 80 mph getting 22 mpg with a 4x4 doesnt sound reasonable at all. mine must be a lemon. by the way, I have a clean AFE filter in the truck and the truck has 22,000 on it, so its broken in.

04 2500 Quad Cab 4x4, 6 spd, 3.73 rear, HO Cummins, 31570r17 tires, 8200 miles on it . Trip from Ft Hood to San Antonio and back yesterday, got 19.9 to 20.5 between 68-70mph. Tank average at fill up was 20.4 calculated by gallons into mileage on the odometer ( had 93 miles on it before trip so mpg were slightly higher). With the 315's I'm turning 1900 rpms at 70mph!

It ain't a Hemi, It's a 6 cylinder and I get almost 21mpg!

Going to Florida in a couple of weeks for some Spring Break and Grouper fishing experience. Gonna set cruise at 68mph and roll...should get a steady 20-21mpg as it gets warmer towards Florida! And, with the new XM Commander installed, with no commercials, Heck< i might fall asleep at the wheel!

I beat you all, yesterday going down hill I got 99.9 MPG then it just kept dropping until it stoped at 18.9. computers can definately play tricks on us, LOL. I only have 1100 miles on my Ram 2004.5,325/ 600, short bed, 4x4,QC. I figure by the time it breaks in I should get about 19 to 21 mpg, I hope, if not I can live with 18.9.

99.9 mpg down hill lol I'll need to try that some day.

The other day I got 0.9 on the computer when I bought fuel then sat at idle in the line for the car wash. It took 3 days to works its way back up to 17.

Now I don't reset the computer at fill up. It has settled at about 17ish but my calculated mileage is actually 15.5. I do local roads, short runs, no highway. I'll have a highway run empty out and towing back soon to see what she can really do.

17 to 18 ABOVE 75 mph, 18 to 20 in the 70 to 75 mph range. Below 70 I really do get over 20 mpg calculated. Ran almost 500 miles one time at a calculated 22 mpg but it was slower speeds.

Friend with a 2 wheel drive version is old and slow. He drove from Minnesota to Pennsylvania and got 26 mpg. I rode with him one time. That was enough.

I get 23-24 on freeways at 70-75. This is up by 5 mpg after I installed EZ and 4" exhaust. This is on an 03 3500 with 315's, canapy and 3.73 rear.

you boys sure do get some great mileage. My 7.3 psd will get 18.4 at 68. It is real consistent. I go to florida every february and i get the same **** mileage. I wish it was a little better. How is the new 600 doing? I would love a cummins but i am sorry, I need that true crew cab. My family would not be happy on the way to florida with what dodge currently has. Tell me more about the 600 and mileage. Thanks gents. Please no flames for the psd, my truck is rock solid and they all have their ups and downs.
