Fuel leak on cp3 fitting at high pressure line
Well got under the truck and first thought I had an oil leak somewhere. Nothing ever on the ground in my garage. Just noticed stain(s) on front of front diff. Did clean all areas and found what I thought was oil, but figured out it must be diesel mixed with road grime on crossmember. Oil filter tight and no stains. Then I saw a couple drops of fuel on bottom of ecu(m)?...What I finally found is the only place that was wet with diesel was the fitting on the high pressure line that leads up to the injectors.
What should I do? Give it a good tightening? Anyone else notice a leak in this location? Nothing dripping when I started her up at idle. Couldn't check any other rpm by myself. Will check again after work. Advice please..!!!

My 03 had the same leak. I snugged it up and it stopped, didn't want to take truck to dealer and wait for 2-3 days for them to say they couldn't find the leak

Just got thru tightening most of the fittings on the common rail. After I got in there and really looked and felt around, I think the leak was coming from either the overflow valve or one of the fittings that led to an injector. I was able to "snug" the top of the valve and one fitting probably between an eighth and a quarter of a turn (which was surprising, because I was using an open ended wrench and not alot of leverage). The other fittings that I could reach did not move.
Interesting things to note:
1- I'm losing more of my hearing as of today, or whatever I did GREATLY quieted down the engine. Not as much clatter. Just alot quieter and smoother sounding.
2- Does anyone think that this is just something that wasn't tightened enought at the factory OR maybe just worked its way loose a tiny bit? Do you think that is why some of us SWEAR their engines get louder after awhile?
I have only 11,000 miles to date.
Hopefully this took care of the problem
Thanks for your help...
