Fuel filters

Going to install a water/seperator filter and 2 micron fuel filter. These will be a set made at home from a post Carl48 has posted. A few questions that I have are:

1. Which hose do I cut into to bring the fuel into the filters?
2. First filter that the fuel should flow through first is the water seperator then the fuel filter, correct?
3. Exact location of the angle mount that holds the filters?
4. Do I have to prime the fuel before starting?
5. Does the in tank pump have enough pressure to transfer the fuel through all three filters, water seperator, 2 micron filter, and oem filter?
Instalations will be in my signature truck, 2006, HO, HPCR.

These questions have probably been answered before but I would appreciate a refresher.

Thanks.

1. Which hose do I cut into to bring the fuel into the filters? The one coming out of the tank.
2. First filter that the fuel should flow through first is the water seperator then the fuel filter, correct? Yes
3. Exact location of the angle mount that holds the filters? I'm no help here
4. Do I have to prime the fuel before starting? No but it would be better. You could cycle the key a few times but hand priming would be easier for the first time.
5. Does the in tank pump have enough pressure to transfer the fuel through all three filters, water seperator, 2 micron filter, and oem filter? Most will say yes. I will also add that you should install a fuel pressure gauge to help determine when to change your filters.
Instalations will be in my signature truck, 2006, HO, HPCR.

Thanks for the reply. I am also going to install a fuel pressure guage. I didn't know or should say haven't looked at the fuel tank hose yet, didn't know if there would be a return hose on the tank too.
I wanted to do this set up as opposed to spending alot of money on a commerical kit.

There is a return line. It has been a while since I had my tank down but I remember them being 2 different sizes. The larger one is the one going to the fuel filter.

I just have a 2micron filter in line AFTER the OEM filter. The OEM catches the big stuff and water the 2mic gets cleaner fuel too....The fuel pressure sensor is inline after all filters so I can tell when filters need changing. (haven't needed changing in two years, about 60k miles.)

Make sure to use a snubber on the fuel pressure sensor...or it will only last about a year. (I had 2 go bad before installing a snubber)

Sounds like a good idea, might consider it, but leaning toward the two filters under the frame, Thanks for your reply it is appreciated.

Ok, thanks, I'll try tracing it before I cut into it, just to make sure.
