Fuel Additives

With the new low sulfer diesel do you guys use fuel additives to lubricate and all the rest they claim they do...mileage, longevity, etc.?
I've searched through months of posts and haven't seen much mention of it.

I'm brand new to oilers and have so many questions.

Fuel additives have been considered by many to be important, for years, and I believe with the new fuel that yes, they are becoming even more important.
Welcome to the site.

Thanks, this is a great site. So do you use anything special? I've seen Amsoil, Standyne and others. I'm hoping people chime in if they use anything. I just want to take care of my baby.

Stanadyne is the only thing I use and would suggest it to all with the new ulsd. It protects our valuable fuel system, and allows us to use #2 diesel at temperatures less than -15 degrees. #2=mpg we all know that!

Power Service here. Used it for several years in 2nd gen and 3rd gen. No injection pump problems in either.

I've used Stanadyne, Power Service, and Howe's. The only thing I noticed was that the Power Service and Howe's seemed to make it run a little quieter.

I think the key is to just use something and use it consistently.

Thanks everyone...this is all good to hear. I just got my girl a month or so ago and know nothing about diesels, but thought to investisgate since that new ULSD came out. I'll get right on it and find something to stick with.

Hopefully I'll get some more responses...I like to see all the suggestions...it's great!

Anyone on here try the new Amsoil additive? What are your thoughts and opinions on it?
