I've used Stanadyne since the first tankfull. I also add a little Marvel Mystery Oil at each fillup. With ULSD showing up, I'll probably increase the MMO.

 

I know alot of people use 2 stroke. Has anyone had any problems due to it? What about the 10, 20, or 30 # ND motor oil as far as prob's due directly to using it? I'm learning a good bit from this thread! Thank you.

Been worried about it, since the low sulfer came out, need to start using some....

 

Rather than adding oil, why not just get some biodiesel and add that?

Only 2 stations in all of New Mexico have Bio, and it's 50 cents more a gallon. Otherwise that's a great idea.

 

If you can get it, 50 cents per gallon more than diesel is still way cheaper than oil. You only need 2% to get huge lubricity benefits.

 

I was thinking about the same idea. It is the same $$$ where I live but I get worse MPG's w/it. I still fill up w/it about every 4th tank.

 

If it's hard to get or very expensive, you can just use it as an additive. Apparently 2% is enough to make kerosene more lubricated than regular diesel. %5 should be more than enough to protect any truck from problems due to lack of fuel lubricity.
