The book says "Trac-Rite" limited slip axles do not require limited slip additive. "Trac-lock" axles, though (used in smaller vehicles) do require additive...
Correct!! the larger (2500 & 3500 - 10.5" and 11.5" I think) truck American Axles don't have clutches so any friction additive it just wasted if you put it in there.

Once again thanks guy's. When my bother gets back in town I'm going to get a hold of his manual, but I just wanted to get ahead of the game, and knew I could get the help here.

I used Amsoil Severe Gear 80w90.Towing 10k several hundered miles I got a TERRIBLE chatter starting off and on left turn.After cool down would go away.After MANY telling me u/joints it went away after Additive added from Advance auto parts.Purolater I believe.I just happed to be near them and thats was what they had.No more chatter!
