when driving,coasting and applying brakes at low speeds front end shakes.front tires feel out of around at low speeds.at higher speeds i can feel and hear some bearing noise.removed the front hubs. bearings seem tight.i,m waiting for new hubs.any other ideas. thanks.

jack up the front if your hubs are bad u can wiggle the tires @ 6 and 12 position. your rotors can be warped too, check play in hubs before spending on something u might not need. rockauto has the hubs cheaper then most.

 

im getting a wobble without applying any brakes and when i cost to a stop.when i brake at low speeds 10 mph and lower feels like lots of play in rotating parts. higher speeds are ok.

 

I had the exact symptoms you described once on a minivan, it turned out to be a big bubble in the tire. It only vibrated at low speeds.

 

When my hubs went out I would here a clunk when slowing to a light and also when taking off from a stop, no vibrations, just a clunk. I thought they were going out again, but it turns out that the center u-joint on the rear shaft was bad. It froze up in one direction. You would have to drop the driveshaft to check. It cost 250.00 at the dealer for 1!!!!!! u-joint. I had already signed for the 115.00 check it out fee because I thought it was the hubs and they would fix under the warranty since I had just had them done, but it wasn't so I just had them fix it. In the mean time I will be ordering ujoints for 25.00 ea and fixing it myself the next time they go bad.

 

tires looked ok it feels like metal to metal

 

Sounds like what I felt when I went to BFG AT's on the '99. Problem began and ended with mounting of BFG's and dismounting of same ,then mounting of Toyo's. No more BFG's.

 

Wouldn't hurt to swap tires front to back, just for giggles.

Are the ball joints slopped out?

 

only $25 axle joints ive seen were made in china from autozone

 

Advanced auto was 10 bucks. Heard of this site from another post. I don't know where they are made, Precision brand, but I doubt they are much diff from the OEM Dodge u joints.
