Front end alignment

I took my truck in today to have it aligned because it pulled to the right when you took your hand off the wheel. Well, $85 dollars later it still pulls to the right. They said they adjusted it to the max, whatever that meant. I am gonna try a different shop, is there anything I can have them look for other than the basic alignment they provide that will help?

I've heard of this before.

Do a search on here for it (like pulls right, or alignment). I think there were several threads on the subject.

I want to say it was something about need to slot out the camber adjustment to get more adjustment. Or maybe a track bar. Worn out tie rod ends. Sorry, I can't remember.

Did your pull come on suddenly or over a period of time?
If fairly suddenly it could be a defective tire. I have had bad tires cause pulling more than once. In my case the tire guys said that the steel belt in the tire was failing.

Mine still pulls a little to the right after having an alignment, but I attribute that to being because of how most roads are crowned. Does it still pull much when you're in a parking lot that's relatively flat? Or maybe even try driving on the wrong side of the road (preferably in the middle of nowhere!) and see if it pulls the opposite direction...

I was under the impression that there was no adjustment in these trucks. What exactly did they adjust??

Did you check the most obvious thing...tire pressure?? A difference in tire pressure between one side and the other would make it pull towards the side with the lower pressure.

theres no camber adjustment, but caster and toe is adjustable.

try rotating the tires and see if it changes at all......

Tire pressure is fine, it has pulled since I got it a month ago. It has 75k on it, maybe it is time for some new parts.

My 04.5 has pulled to the right from day one. Its slowly getting worse. Had it in the shop 4 times, each time they service manager said they adjusted it to the factory specs even after I told them to foget about the factory spec because it obviously didn't correct the problem. I suspect it is a track bar issue, I know road crown will affect it but mine is really bad, pulls right hard on flat rods too.

Search the forum for more info, I haven't had time to yet.

Pull is caused by bad tire, brake drag, loose front end parts. etc.. out of alignment. You have to hit something pretty dang hard to knock the front end out of alignment!

Agreed! I suspect a problem with the track bar (probably sloppy joints). Once I get a concrete floor in my garage I'll investigate.

A bad track bar would make it feel like driving a bowl of jello down the road. Try swapping the two front tires side to side and see what happens then.

Ruling out the crown of the road is easy... drive on the wrong side of the road and see if it still pulls right. My truck pulls right and I've heard that lots of these trucks pull right. I just live with it... never been a bother worth fixing.
