ATF+4 and every 30k to 40k miles IIRC. Might even be 50k but I always do my trans and tcase at the same time and the tcase is always dirtier than trans.

Thanks guys mine is actually still good based on the 30K mile frequency... My buddy has a 2004 that needs changing,,, his has the 4wd transfer case also... his manual tranny is different than mine though,,, did the earlier Xfercases use ATF-4 also??? and how much volume/quarts to change it???

Yes the older transfer cases used ATF+4. I think it is less than 3 quarts.

I have the NV5600 trans and it has quitened the low RPM gear growl in the lower gears. Did not eliminate the growl but reduced it a lot.
