Iv'e recently traded in my $40k vibrator on a Hemi. I don't tow heavy or often enough to put up with the headache's. My loss could be your gain. I am giving away the following to the first diesel brother to show up. I really don't want to pack and ship.

(3) cases redline synthetic 15W40 diesel oil

(3) Fleetguard fuel filter's FS19579

(2) Fleetguard oil filter's LF16035

I am located in Mentor, OH, about 30 miles east of downtown Cleveland.

I can meet anyone within a reasonable distance.

PM me or call 440-352-6321.

I should rephrase the line about meeting anyone within a reasonable distance. I'm only a few miles from Rt 90 and could meet anyone passing through at a local exit.

That's a very generous offer, CRF. Wish I was closer, but RI isn't within a "reasonable distance".

I hear ya---maybe if I were taking a road trip I could deliver more easily. I just figured I'm already losing out, so I wanted to help someone else and avoid the hassle of trying to box and ship everything.

I have to believe someone in my area would take these items off my hands.

That or like I posted above, someone passing through the area on interstate 90.

I have a second gen and the filters wouldn't help me, but how do you like your CRF450?
Been trying to decide what to replace the XR250 with, a KTM EXC-450 or the CRF-450.

Wuds rider,

hotdram,

love the CRF450--I had an 02 and now the 03. That's why I originally purchased my CTD, to pull a RV/toy hauler with the bikes in back. That dream's on hold for now. I started out on a XR400 when I got back into riding a few years ago, but wanted more power/better suspension. I started out in the woods, but ride mostly practice mx now. The only major issues with both the 250 & 450 CRF's are the intake valves. The titanium can puke out quickly, and an upgrade to stainless with better springs is all that's needed. Other than that they are fairly reliable--high strung though. Need more TLC than an XR.

Joel,

No road trips this weekend. I used to make the annual trips to both Carlisle and Reading PA for auto shows. Have since scaled back those programs.

hows the Hemi

CRF_Diesel
Hows the hemi?
I am also getting rid of my 40k vibrator for a 2500 ,larami, Hemi quad cab, 4x4, shortbed
cant take it any more and done with it , my tires are all scalloped and dc cant do a thing about it so might as well go for the luxury rather than the engine i will miss my cummins tho. just wondering if it was worth it to you. I also tow lite, I just wanted the durability of the diesel
still undesided i might take a couple diesels for a test drive to see if they have the dreaded droning sound and vibe, but not sure I even want t ochance it again..

SR,

Love the Hemi. I miss the cummins too, but couldn't take it either. I ordered my previous rig, and took it for a test drive prior to signing the paperwork. Only problem is I didn't go fast enough to awaken the vibe/drone. I actually stepped further down the food chain to a 1500. The final straw for me was my family constantly complaining of the noise, rough ride, yada, yada, yada. My previous truck was an '03 4.7 Dakota, so I can see their point. The power of this thing, combined with the lower weight chassis is great. It really moves out. So much so, I have to take off easy to avoid spinnig the tires. Also rides and sounds so smooth. With only 400 miles, the overhead shows 19-21 on the freeway. About where my broken in CTD showed. I will hand calc. after a few more miles.

Best piece of advice. Test drive any potential new vehicle everywhere, at all speeds. I will never buy another vehicle without doing so.

sr148,
Ask member hannibal his thoughts also. He did the same thing you are doing for the same reason. He also tows a decent amount of weight. From reading his posts, he is very happy with the performance of the Hemi in the 2500 while towing.

The main reason I still have the XR is the "bullet-proofness" of it. I am not riding as much anymore (as riding areas are becoming harder to find) and will probably keep the XR a while longer until I can justify a new scoot.

Good luck with your new truck (and go Browns!!)

Yeah, they are bullet proof. That's why I'm looking for another XR400. Even though they're a bit heavy, they run forever and rock in the trails. Just don't mx them.
