Found this in my tranny pan


What is it? Is my tranny pooched?
It's from a dodge 3500 diesel

Knibbler pin, looks like it broke off the flux capacitor.

Lol I've bin researching and think its the overdrive snap ring. I wounder if I can still keep driving it?

Yeap, overdrive snap ring. Keep going, happens a good bit. If you need to rebuild the overdrive assembly, you can do it without dropping the tranny.

Will I reduce the risk of the rest of the snap ring falling out if I turn off the over drive ?

Not that I know of. Do a search on here. Some folks just ran without it. If you are worried about a breakdown, get it replaced.
