Fluid leak, not sure what it is.

I just looked under my truck and see there is a fluid leak. Looks like it is thin fluid maybe red in color. It was getting dark and i couldn' really see where it was coming from. I could see it is was on the front of the tranny but was leaking from up higher on the vehicle so it could have leaked down from somewhere. It is an 06 with a 6spd tranny. Any ideas?

Pink, it could be coolant. Red, trans fluid.

Probably the coolant hose thats behind the turbo. Common problem. Sometimes you can just reposition the hose on the tubing or put better clamps on it to repair it.

If it is dripping off the bellhousing, I'd bet a box of doughnuts it is that hose.

Crude Dude and Jeff in Td were right. Thanks for the help and i will be getting that hose and clamps replaced it looks like. I hate to see any fluid dripping and since i just bought the truck my heart kinda feel into my stomach when i first looked at it. All is better in my world. Now what do you guys know about rewireing a house that was built in 1835? I don't think the had e- then so my lights and wires are all a botch job!

The little hose behind the turbo on mine started to leak a little. I just tightened the clamps a little and that stopped it. That was two years ago and still not leaking. Kind of a booger to get at though.

There've been several threads about that leak, and it always seems 06 owners are on them.

I just snugged mine down, and that cured it. If it leaks again, I'll get the updated hose and spring clamps.

Come from a family of electricians and I did it for a few years back around 1995-1999 and I have only retained one thing, that no matter how good you think you are, turn the breaker off! haha. Remodeled some old stuff before (from the 40's) but cannot imagine what kind of custom electrical you would have in an old house like that. Good luck
