Finally figured out how to race off a roll.....lol!!
wow...... OK, I hated my truck off a roll b/c everytime I was doing over 50 and wanted to race someone, I was guaranteed to LOSE. The reason being is say I am doing about 55-60mph and I am in 4th gear, I would then punch it so the trans can downshift and go right to redline and than wait another few seconds for it to shift back to 4th gear all for a waste of time. So then I realized after 1yr of owning my truck that its much better for me to punch it BUT NOT too much or NOT all the way for it to downshit, just punch it and still be in the 4th gear and MAN does it make a difference. NO TIME LOSE, NO TRANS HARM and overall much better and I can NOW actually race people off a roll.....

when im in 4th gear (TOP GEAR) and on level 5 on my EDGE and punch it but still in 4th gear, I get a little bog or a slight hesitation around 60mph but then it goes away right away.

I must be geared different than you (3.73). I was in that same "situation" just the night before last, hit my OD-off button at 65mph but I knew from past experience I wouldn't hit "redline" (3200 rpm) until about 75mph. That's when I hit the OD-on button, let up a bit so it'd shift then floored it. She launched right up to 90mph lickity split 'cause of all that boost . Coulda' shot right through 100 but the guy that had been next to me driving the 6.0 was already fading fast in the mirror so I backed off.

Buy an 06, and use tow/haul, mine pulls like a monster around that speed.
If I'm doing 55-60 and go to pass someone, I'm at about 80 when I start pulling back in to the lane.

a lockup controller will be the answer too all. Mine wont shift down if I have the converter locked up. If I hit er at say 45, I get a really big cloud of smoke, and then I look down, and I am doing 100,, just like that (and that is MPH for the other canadians on here)

I agree with Steelblitzkrieg with mine in tow/haul if I just roll into the throttle it will go like ____! But I think it has finnally taken a toll on the driveline because it shakes alot from slip then clears up at about 2XXX to 2300 rpm. Hopefully after tomorrow it will be a little better.
