Filter Minder
How accurate are these? I'm ~ 40% towards the red in over two years. I have a new filter ready to put in, but should I bother with so much area left before I get near the red? Should I just clean out the housing and put the stock filter back in?
Thanks in advance.

My filter minder is at 60% with 83,000 miles with the orginal filter. Almost 100% highway with about 25,000 towing my 5er.
I just installed gauges and am tryng to get a base line on the boost and then I will change the filter and see if the boost improves. Presently boost will go around 22-23 psi @ WOT around 2200 RPM.
Truck is stock except for gauges and turbo cool down timer.

I know the book says not to check it or change it until the minder says to but dang it----I cant help myself. I have changed it about every 30k. I know, waste of money etc.

I put a Fram filter in my truck and it's only a month old , clean as a whistle , but it pulls the minder into the red if I floor it one time. I f I reset the minder and drive normal it stays at about 25%. I hate to replace it already because it's real clean, but I think it's too restrictive for sure. I don't use Fram oil filters, but I figured they could make an airfilter, not much to them.

Reset the filter minder at oil changes and it should go back up to where it was before after a little bit of your usual driving. The are accurate indicators of filter restriction. Fleetguard says to go by them along with Donaldson, etc. If it makes you feel better, go ahead and change it when you want.

Everyone must live in a cleaner area than me!! LOLOL I put a new Air filter in every oil change just out of habit! They are cheap and mine get pretty darn ugly in a real short period of time. Filter minder is useless! LOLOL Rodeos and constant dust are not easy on a filter..LOL

even when mine says 100%, it still gets 20 mpg...
just changed the filter, and will see how long it takes to register 100 again. it moves every time i drive it. I was thinking of adding some vent holes. maybe its not getting enough air just thru the small fender opening?
