Bought a 2003 2500 auto 5.9 with a bad factory turbo. It's leaking oil, however seems to run ok. It is a rollover so I have not driven on road yet. How hard is it to rebuild and where would you get a kit or parts?

 

I just had mine done last month on my 03 Ho and it cost me 325 High tech turbo did the work and they can get it done usually in a day.

kc, you said it was a roll over, as in the truck got rolled?????... IF so, there might not be anything wrong with the turbo... When an engine gets upside down, oil tends to run back thru the intake system, thru the intercooler.. everywhere. You might try pulling the cold housing and intercooler piping and clean out all the oil then put it back together and run it again. Just a thought.

 

Sorry, I didn't give you folks the whole story. It is a salvage title rollover and I called the guy who wrecked it down in Texas. According to him his buddy needed a good turbo for his truck so he took the good turbo and replaced it with a junk one that needs rebuilt. I think I will send it to HT Turbo to be rebuilt next week. Thanks for all your help.
