Factory tranny rebuild Q's

My Trans. is luckily being rebuilt under warranty, Again.. Thank you extended warranty My question is, the mechanic that ordered the parts told me that the clutches would be diffrent. He said that they are smaller, but there are alot more of them. Anyone here of this? I hope it will be stronger. Some day I will build a real trans, until the funds are there, Ill just have to make these stockers work.

Yeap, I have heard of it. Older design used 12 double sided friction disks for the direct clutch. Now they use 24 single sided disks for the direct clutch.

Would that make it better or worse, less slip?
