Exhaust options

I would keep the cat . I just received notification by mail that medium duty diesel trucks here in Nashville will have to pass emmissions testing . I'm glad I kept the cat and put on Mark's cat-back system . I guess I will have to go to the dealer and get the P-0191 code removed before testing . I have heard that you will not pass if you have any engine codes .

I made the mistake for buying the pre bent pipe and spending $90. I did this to a buddies truck and it is the easiest and cheapest. Instead of having some muffler shop charge an arm and a leg for their work do it yourself. Go to you local auto parts store (NAPA is where I went) and get 3 feet of flex pipe and two 4 inch band clamps. Total cost is $35. Cut the muffler out and put in the flex pipe and clamps. You retain the stock location and the sound is not loud but a nice deep groan WOT.

jwtuc,
Yep it's hit the big city now on all the light to meduim duty diesels. I wonder if I should start e baying all the old cats I have collected from customers over the years!!!
The info they sent with my renewal was a little vague, you seem to think it's just a sniff test, or what? Have you been thru it yet? Let me know if you would or stop by the office if you want.
