Question Exhaust and guage??

Ok, I'm trying to kill two birds with one stone here. looking at putting a five inch exhaust on the truck, but having a hard time droping the money. Had a quote from the guy in town here in podunk Texas for 321 plus install. Just wondering if anyone knew of a better deal on the pipe? I can put it on myself I hope... Secondly, I just got an X-Monitor from BD and was wondering about the pyro position. Front three, rear three, center, post turbo. help me out here. Has anyone else put on of these on hard? looks time consuming but doable. Thanks alot for any and all help,
Nick

center isn't an option really... there is a web cast in the manifold above the turbo... i'd say monitering the rear three cylinders is a better idea as #4 has a poor flowing design...

as for the exhaust, i did a quick search and i couldn't really find anything under the $350 range... [check ebay...]

that seems like a pretty good deal... $321

not to change the suject totally but i need to get one thing clarified... Ive always been told pre-turbo is more accurate, and that drilling in the manifold is ok to do. Some dude at work is trying to tell me to not drill the manifold becuase it can crack?! I've been telling him he doesn't know wut hes talking about and everyone i know has it in the manifold... is this true? its ok to drill in the manifold correct? thanks all
Eric

ok guys thanks for the input. Do I just need to tap and die that hole and thread the pyro in because the destructions say to drill big enough for this bushing and weld it in, this is most likely for post turbo apps correct? also what max temps should I set the alarms for on the pyro?

Find an exhaust kit on ebay, and ask them what the price would be with a muffler replacement pipe.

Pre Turbo on EGT always. There is a proper place to drill and tap.Someone I thought had pictures posted. 5 inch exhaust is only useful if 500H.P. plus.Otherwise it hurts low end power.4 inch if under 500 H.P.Been a number of dyno graphs printed over time that show this. There is such a thing as too big.
