so mine failed this weekend after 53,000 miles... Just stopped making vacuum, but did not sieze, so I was able to drive about 100 miles to my destination without having to swap out belts..

found a pump and got it replaced...

now 2 questions that I know I have seen mentioned before here, but cannot find...

1. is there a rebuild kit, or anyone rebuilding the old pumps???

2. someone replaced the belt driven pump with an electric vacuum pump, anyone have a link to that thread??

As far as I know there are no rebuild kits for these pumps. It might be worht a call to your local Cummins store.

I have heard of people buying new pumps from Cummins for $200-$300.

yeah I got mine straight from Cummins... Was $197 + tax... Have seen others say they have gotten them cheaper, but when it's the only pump in town, you take it...

I will call Cummins about the rebuild ...

Still looking for the guy who did the electric pump...
