Engine information for 2007
Just had some service done at my local Dodge dealer and when speaking to the mechanic that did the work he mentioned to me that he was at a service seminar last friday and they had one of the new 2007 3500 pickups. Seems that it had a 6.8 Cummins Turbo Diesel No other information concerning HP & torque numbers but sound like a little bigger engine to me. No information on transmission etc just that.

I wonder what fuel economy they are trading the bhp increase for? I don't know if it's really worth it.
Even at 505 bhp I could tow anything I needed to. The new 610 loses about 2 mpg over my 04'.
Fuel costs more, truck costs more, tires costs more. . . .

A bigger engine could be more fuel efficient in this case. If the new Cummins weighs the same as the 5.9, we aren't loosing anything to an engine weight gain. It is possible that it will use less fuel per hp at cruise range. Unfortunately, I haven't found fuel curves from Cummins but I have noticed this on other manufacturer's websites in the past.
