Engine Idling up by itself

Today was the 1st time it got cold(20 deg.) since Ive had my truck & I noticed after a few min. it idled up to 1,000 RPM's on it's own. My '01 never did this. I do have the high idle function but it was not on. Does anybody elses do this? TIA

Mine did it this morning, (35 degrees).

It does it automatically to help warm it up a tad bit faster

Mine just did that this morning also. It was after I had been driving it though and was just idleing while waiting for the wife to show up and it went to 1000RPM for about 30 seconds. The air temp was about 32° and the engine was just below the normal operating temp. Kind of freaked me out. I didn't know the 6spd trucks would do this.
