Engine coolant questions
When I had a powerstroke, I would have to put in DCA4 and use test strips to check the coolnat and add ph and all that jazz.
Do I need to do that with the Cummins as well?
I never see any mention of it and I thought of it the other day so I thought I would ask the pros..
Thanks

No, you do not need to do that with a Cummins.
The Ford Powerstroke 7.3 was a great engine, but was prone to cavitation. If you didn't maintain a certain DCA level, you would develop pin holes in the back of cylinders. To the best of my knowledge, the Ford Powerstroke was the only medium duty diesel truck engine that did this.

I add 1 pt. of DCA4 to mine every year and that keeps the nitrate and molybdate at the right levels for corosion protection. I'm going to put on a filter, next. Taking out the particulate really helps keep the conductivity and electrolysis down. Craig
