Dont get that purple stuff on any polished or shined aluminum.

It will corrode aluminum.

Dulls the finish. If you're real mindful of the electronic and the intake, really careful if you use a pressure washer, and don't wash it hot you'll be fine.

I use Simple Green. Works good and doesn't corrode aluminum if you wash it off in a timely manner.

I wash/rinse under the hood about once every month and it still looks like new!!!!!

Just spray it off with the garden hose no soap or anything.

I have been meaning to try it but I read there is a spray the Harley drivers use on their motors. Sorry I forgot the name. But a good Harley store would know. BTW I cleaned my motor last time with WD40, worked good.

Pig Snot is popular with the Harley crowd.

Simple Green 50% water mix, Rinse really well.

I use it often with no bad effects, but rinse well.

I used Castrol Super Clean when my power steering pump leaked on everything and it worked well. I do keep it clean though.

One of the best engine shampoos I've ever used is the Mopar engine shampoo from any Dodge dealer. One shop I worked at used to buy by the 50 gallon drum it worked so good. Definitely no issue with corrosion or hash chemicals with it, just don't get any in your eyes as it stings like hell! (Don't ask how I know)
