Did you buy it like this, or have you had it since it was new? Stuff happens, reading these forums has me listening for every little thing, worrying about my trans and injectors. And wondering if I'm gonna be the lucky one with a dropped valve seat.

bought it used with 180,000 on it. but i thought these engines were bulletproof being a mechanic and all.when i bought it, it drove awsome. didnt have gauges in or anything. overtime i would get a erratic miss at idle and underload on highway.maybe it was time.

Canadian Tire!!!! Your kidding right?? OMG, you shouldn't let them work on a lawnmower, let alone a diesel truck!

lol im kidding....i guess i had most probably 2 low compression cylinders from the get go. not bad enough that i could hear it but overtime and the combination of weak injectors caused this.i hope the edge didnt because i only use it on level 1. reason why i have hot unlock is because i sent it in for turbo timer and since it was there i got hot unlock.mostly because if i ever sell it, hot might be a buying feature.

How come you don't have gauges listed in your mods?

How did you know you were running hot when you thought the Edge was causing it?

In the other thread you suspected Blow-by, yet I don't recall you ever checking to see if your oil was contaminated which would be the number one sign of Blow-by.

You couldn't hear a dropped valve?

Only ever used on #1? I don't know anyone who hasn't cranked it up at least once just to see what it could do. I know I run my Quad on L2 95% of the time, but the other 5% I put it on L3 to fart around a bit.

I assume you didn't have the truck checked over before purchasing it, in case it was abused by the previous owner?

wow. itll cost me $15,000 by the time this is done. rebuilt engine $11,500 minus $3000 for the new injectors i just bought which equals $8500 and add another $2000 for labor to swap engines and the bill is already $3000 probably. i like diesel engines........

lol. my warranty declined the claim because they said they dont cover burnt valve or valves. 1 valve burnt because it didnt seat right due to carbon build up. this was LUBRICO warranty. dont ever get this Edit warranty. they say theyll cover things but then when something goes wrong they make excuses. basically the guy on the phone from lubrico told me that I was supposed to pull cylinder head off every 20,000km in order to inspect carbon build up on valves.then get something done before it gets worse. what do you guys think?

I would ask LUBRICO where it is in writing in the warranty paper work that your supposed to pull cylinder head off every 20,000km in order to inspect carbon build up on valves. I think get got that BS out of his second point of contact, aka the part of your body you sit on. I guess they think most people will buy that line of BS and it saves them money. The problems your having with this company is why I tell people to only buy factory warranties and not some cheap after market warranty.

lol im sorry for swearing in previous post. i have to bite the bullet this time. its going to cost me $15,000 roughly(with labor) to get a new engine dropped in. its a rebuilt 325 HP HO. they are going to use my brand new injectors and accessories like starter,ecm,cp3 etc....
they say it has brand new pistons, rods, bearings etc...only crank and cylinder bores are re used.meaning they didnt rebore or rehone they just inspected cylinder walls and dropped in new pistons/rings etc...does this sound good?
