I think the preferred is 300 but not sure with the 3rd gens. On my 1st gen I would wait until 300 before shutting it down. Now I usually wait like you, right under 400 or so.

300 is the preferred temp. It's more for the turbo than any other component. They say if you use synthetic you can shut down a little warmer. The synthetics have a higher cook off temp so the turbo will not get coked up.

300 is where I try to get, that's what new Cool Down Timer is set on. Mine really cools down quicker if I turn off AC/Defrost a couple blocks before I get there.

I shoot for 300-325 pre-turbo with dino oil. It takes a LONG time to get less than 300 on my truck so a non-technical cost-benefit analysis says that 300 is a good trade-off between idling forever and protecting the turbo. I'm looking forward to switching to synthetic around the 20K mark.

I shoot for 300 pre turbo. Seems to me that buy time I slow down threw town(all 4 blocks of it) and pull into my driveway and idle into the garage that it is barly above 300 so a lot of the time i dont even have to waight at all. If I do its usaly just a few seconds at idle and it will be 300 or below.

every truck is alittle different. my truck takes a long time to get below 300. but it usually only takes a minute to get to 350-400, after normal driving. that's where i shut it down at.
