EGT limits
#2
I just install my EGT gauge this past weekend. I have the 325/610 with an auto. I was surprised how fast it got hot.
Seemed to jump right up to 800* - 900* without even trying that hard (level ground, fair amount of throttle). But then after that, even WOT, it took a little longer to get it up around 1250* - 1300* or so. Cruising around easy on the highway (about 70 - 75) it stayed right around 600 * - 700* or so.
This is a stock motor with only a Pro-Guard 7 air filter and a smooth torque tube into the turbo. Hits about 35 lbs of boost with WOT.
My egt probe is PRE-Turbo so numbers will be higher then POST- turbo.
They say anything after 1350* is bad. NOT to stay at those temps very long as things will start to melt.

grandblanc; Is your EGT probe pre- or post-turbo?
I just got mine installed, post-turbo, on Sat. And running around on Sunday, mine was reading between 400 and 600 degrees, just running around. If I stomped on it going up a hill, it would climb to about 800 degrees, but as soon as I backed out of it, it would drop back down to about 600 degrees.
I'm no expert, nor do I play one here on the forum, but I have heard that pre-turbo, the temps can get as high as about 1300 degrees, but you don't want to run it very long that high.
I am sure that others, with more experience will chime in with more information.
