I am attempting an install of an EGT, ISSPRO. can any one suggest what wires I should use for lighting with dimmer and ignition source. I am having difficulty in locating wires (colors) to tap into to for the final hookup.

On my dad's 06 I think I used a pink wire under the dash in the main wiring harness to the right of the ABS connector for the ignition hot wire. Then, for the dimmer, pop the end panel off of the dash where the dash meets the door and you can gain easy access to the wires coming from the headlight switch. Using a 12 volt test light with the headlights on you will get voltage from an orange and brown wire. There are a couple of orange and brown wires but one will dim the test light with the dimmer roll switch to the right of the headlight switch.

For the ignition hot you can use any wire that comes on when the key is turned like the cig lighter which is what a lot of people use.

 

Thank you very much for the wiring info.. All worked GREAT....... All I need to know is what wire is hot from ignition... I cannot seem to find the lighter wire, it it buried behind panels etc. I will keep looking, thanks again for the quick response and get me going..............

 

The lighter is buried behind the panels that's why I just used the pink (I think) wire in the bundle. It's easy to get to.
