Economy programer
I am interested in getting a programer for my stock 2004 ram. What is a good programer that only gives you economy not a bunch of extra horsepower? I'm looking to spend around $250

Hi, I just bought the Edge Mileage Max. Only had it on since yesterday. Right away, I noticed a more responsive throttle response. As for mileage, I can't tell you. It will take several weeks of hand calculations to determine if it really works as stated. I too, was not interested in the higher horsepower although it does state it will boost 35 hp.. I did also notice, I no longer pour smoke out the exhaust..

I don't know how each brand of chip or tuner gets the economy. My Predator Econ. tune is also 100 hp and you can find used ones for 250 or less. I recently talked to Mark @ TST and he said their econ. setting is timing only. You can do that for free by doing the tone ring mod on the front of the crank. I did it before I got the predator and I liked the results. IIRC, it did as much for mpg as the tuner - about 1/2 or a little more mpg and it ran better. I set it back to stock when I got the tuner. i took my edge ez off and put on a edge mileage max. i been lucky in life by getting a edge ez handed to me and a superchip that i never use. i took the ez off so i could return the truck to stock and put the ez on my dads truck.
but i did buy the edge milage max for my long weekend trips. so far i am getting about 1.5 miles more to gallon. some trips i will get 2 more to the gallon. every week is differnt all depends on the weather. wind really affects me and when it snows your always speeding up and down, but on the nice days driving right i do see that 1.5 to 2 miles more.
this has been my experience

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
I had the Quadzilla Max Mileage Module befor I bought my Smarty. It did work real well and I gained about 2MPG hand calculated. It does nothing for performance.

Since you had the QMMM, are you noticing similar MPG gains with the Smarty Jr.?
If you don't mind me asking, why did you switch from the QMMM to Smarty Jr.?

I switched because I also wanted the extra power and lower EGT's. EXTREMELY happy that I did it.

Also have the Quadzill Mileage Max. Very pleased with the mileage while towing my 9500 lb fifth wheel. Increase of about 2 mpg with the load , and a very slight boost in power. Just made a trip to the lake, about 140 miles one way and clocked 18 mpg (had a tail wind also). You couldn`t get the smile off my ugly face. Normally get about 13 to 15 with this unit. Running 65 mph max. According to the specs it uses injector timing and fuel rail pressure to get the mileage.

i just picked up a bully dog triple pup on craigslist for $200. on the economy setting, i noticed a slight increase in power, better drivability and mileage seems to be about 1 to 1.5 mpgs better. this tank i put it on performance for a comparison, so we'll see. also got a silverline stainless dual setup on craigslist for $300. i love that place

Just picked up a Smarty Jr last week. new ones run 495.00 shipped, but you won't be sorry. Haven't run long enough yet to measure mileage, but lie-o-meter is showing a small increase. So far all city driving. Ordered from Wagner, last Thursday received Saturday. So far

Smarty Jr is the best, IMHO.. but a little more than $250.. but you get what you pay for.
Quad Mileage Max is a IAT fooler, that bumps the timing..
Edge Mileage Max is either a IAT fooler, or rail pressure fooler.. can't get a clear answer on it.
