DWR to SRW Conversion
#16
I'm suprised more people haven't gotten into this thread. I think you need three things to make the conversion 100% right/perfect:
SRW Rear Axle
SRW Bed
SRW Wheels.
Post the color of your truck. You should also post the axle ratio and whether it has LSD since an axle swap is involved. There have been a few of these posts and almost everytime 2 guys end up doing a days worth of work to get the swap done.
We'll just keep bumping this to the top to see if anyone wants to convert their SRW to a DRW.

So, when you say the Axle needs to be swapped, I assume the entire housing must be changed?
I have a 8ft SRW and am considering a swap, but not until I get a camper in a few months. I have found DRW beds brand new for $1000-$2000. Sounds like I should be able to find someone here to swap with.

Either way, would you consider swapping all necessary parts to make your car a srw and mine a drw? We would need to find you a long bed and I think we will be fine after that. I have 17x9 aluminum round hole rims with 33" tires on them. I also have 2" lift front coil spacers. Send me a pm if you would like to trade and ill give you my phone number. I will drive out there and swap everything across and give you my wheels and tires and lift spacers in trade for your parts. What do you think?
Oooooor, we could trade trucks. mines got 90k miles.
