duramax cp3

Is the duramax cp3 the same as the cp3 on our dodges.

Yes and No.

It has the fittings in different locations.
But its basically the same pump mechanically.

Very similar except for the fittings. The Duramax has larger ports to allow suction for fuel flow, since they don't have a lift pump, at least for the LB7 and maybe the LLY engines. Not sure about the new LBZ(sp?) version.

so can they be swaped or will the ports be a problem, have a buddy with a modded cp3 and also would like to switch

Somewhere I heard that the CP3 off the 8.3 is what is being used on the Ram for a High Perf pump. Bigger lines and a different gear to make it spin faster for the high HP trucks. Anyone know about this?

Fred,
I dont know about the electrical connection for the dmax pump but you would need new hp fuel lines to make it fit.
I also dont know if it mounts to the gear housing in the same exact way.

i think there is a hpcr version around too, or it was the isl that was hpcr???

the ISC and ISL are HPCR engines , the pumps on these engines are known as the CAPS II , they still have some pieces of the original CAPS pump to them. they are nothing like the CP3 pump
