dually insurance and extended warranty

still looking for that new truck---been looking for an extended warranty option and am finding most of the extended warranty companies don't do duallies--also have been told that insurance is considerably higher for duallies ? waiting for my insurance agent to get back with a quote.
also questioning whether i really need the 4 wheel drive as the majority of my use is interstate towing ? i know the resale is a lot better for the 4 wheel drive

Herb,
It's your neighbor in Rives Jct, just down the road a little piece from you. Think you will regret not getting the 4x4. Just got my truck Feb this year and it's almost undrivable in the icy conditions I see on backroads (do construction work) and have found that the toruqe will spin me around with not much acceleration in 2 wheel drive.

Good luck....Don

i am keeping my 01 and it has 4 wheel. this truck will be used primarily for towing my 46 foot gooseneck down the interstates. i know there have been a few times i appreciated the 4 wheel but on the flip side no 4 wheel means fewer things to go bad ?

The Diesel is so much heavier in the front than gassers and if you pull off the road and get in any mud or sand with a 2 wheel drive you are done. I will take my 4 wheel drive even if I only use it 1 or 2 times/yr.

when i am towing i have a lot of weight on the rear that gives me a lot of traction. Still 4 wheel is nice when you need it

Found a nice 03 slt quad long box slt dually 5.9 HO 4x4 with 60,000 on it for 26,000 nearly new goodyears --doesn't look like they ever put anything in the box--few scuff marks no scratches.
6 speed manual-- cd player
Price sound about right?

price seems high to me. bought my 04.5 quad cab 2500 4x4 auto with the ctd-brand new. paid 30,103 in may of 04- the truck you are looking at has 60,000 more miles for only 4,000 bucks less!!

the best i could find for a new 3500 dually slt was 38700.00 in Michigan. Cheaper in South Carolina and Texas but by the time i shipped or went and got it those expenses had me right back up there.

According to Kelly Blue Book I got it for less than the average resale price. I'm kinda glad they hold their value , helps everone who has them not go "upside down" on their loans so soon

besides, makes me feel as tho i am contributing to King George's economy
