DRW----> SRW pics

For those of you that have done the opposite and went from a SRW to a DRW (NJtackle), do you have to get the wider axle for the conversion or would the SRW axle work. That is the biggest thing holding me back right now. If I can keep my axle I'd do it in a heartbeat. I am confused why it is slightly wider for the DRW.
Jim...Nice job.

I did a junkyward 3500 rear. Unbolting the axles was a piece of cake. The 3500 bolted right in no problems at all.

you live in the South ... where people still have a little common sense... up here you get big ol snow banks on the sides and these lug-nuts come right down the middle of the road in their SUB-COMPACTS and fully EXPECT you to get out of their way...
I'm gonna start collecting the parts to do this

Wow I cant believe yall are complaining about driving duallys and sayin they are hard to drive.... Im a GIRL and drive my Megacab Dually EVERYWHERE EVERYDAY and pull my 41 foot horse trailer everywhere, and wouldnt trade it for anything. I guess thats just how we do things in TEXAS... And down here we park where we want to and take up as many parking spots as we want, cars can get over it and learn their place in the food chain.. and thats below the DIESELS

Haha, thats sooo true. People get out of the way when they see her comin. Drives it just like a corvette. And shes not the kinda girl you would expect to be drivin that either. Shes about 5'4, 115 pounds, and gorgeous as can be. Nobody ever believes thats her truck but she honestly does drive it every day everywhere she goes, and never complains a bit and drives it darn good too, better than I've seen some guys drive a dually.

Didn't say anything about "HARD" I have a 45' horse trailer...Belgian Horses a 33' Bull trailer...Bla,Bla Bla...
up here if you are NOT on your side of the road (that is 6 ' wide...and some dope hits you , YOU are at fault for failing to stay in lanes
I love my dually....except in the snowbound winter

Ya I understand you there. Some of the laws they make are ridiculous. Were just messin with you, I have no idea how the laws are up there. Down here theres still more trucks than cars though, so if the car gets hit by the truck for not moving out of the way...well it just sucks for the car

I owned a dually before I bought my 2500 ,and had several gripes with the dually. 1)Couldn't get it into my garage in case of one of the many hail storms, or hurricanes we get here. 2)Couldn't reach over the fenders to grab something out of the bed if it slid inline with the fenders. 3)Pain in the a**s to air up the inners , and rotate all the those tires at home in my driveway., and 4)I hated time for 6 new tires. Other than that I did like the way it looked, and never had a problem driving it being wider.

But if you sell the drw for a srw you might be buying a piece of junk. if you keep yours an just convert it over you still know what you have an its not that big of a deal to do any way just did it to mine
