Driveshaft help
While building my play toy race car, I have been out of diesels and bombing for several years. I have been searching and reading, but I just want some confirmation.
My truck is a 2005 6 speed manual 4X4 quad cab manual. My transmission I believe is the NV5600 (outer skin is cast, rusted, and reverse shifts right and up).
My carrier bearing is toast, and I have been plowing through pages and pages of one piece vs two piece driveshaft posts making me more confused.
If I have read all the posts right, I can not put a one peice aluminum ( part number 52123162AA) driveshaft in because my transmission is 2" longer than the G56 right?
If I am and right and I can not use that driveshaft is there another part number I am not finding that will work? Or am I so far out in left field I can't find my head in a hole in the ground?
Hunter,
Thanks alot

My '03 6 speed had a shudder in 1st and 2nd since the day I bought it. Carrier was finally toast a couple months back so I did some research and found the Spicer makes a carrier brg that replaces our factory junk. Went to my local driveline shop and picked up the Spicer 210391-1X brg and installed it and all I can say is "Wow!!" What a difference it made. The first 2 gears on takeoff are butter smooth. That fixed my problem for under $60 and glad it did too because $500-$600 for an aluminum shaft with shortening it in the end just wasn't in the budget. Not saying it will solve your issues, if you have any at all, but it's an affordable start.
