Does anyone know if i can take my drive shaft harmonic balancer off? I have a one piece shaft that vibrates at 70mph, the rubber holding it on is starting to dry rot. What should i do? Ive heard of putting a 08 aluminum drive shaft on but i dont know the part number. Any ideas or should i just replace the balancer?

 

Easiest is to call Rich at Doghouse Diesel and see if he can source you a stock one-piece aluminum for your truck. If he can't source it stock, he can cetainly make one custom.

They one piece aluminum shafts gone up ALOT in price, over $800 list, though if you can source the mopar part# that fits your truck configuration yourself, then you can often find them at mopar discount internet parts houses forabout $600.

Or, if you have a quality driveline shop in your area, they can make you a replacemnt from either steel or aluminum.
