Does this really work?
Ok, I've been doin' some searchin' on here for about the past hour and have seen some people say use this and use that as far as a lubricant in the fuel system. I went by O'Reilly Autoparts and they had a "Sulfur Substitute". Posted here is a link to it. Do you think this stuff is really gonna work or is it just another one of those "we're gonna make you believe this stuff is gonna work but in all reality you're a moron, I can't believe you're actually buying this product" bs. Thank you for any responses!

i use howes myself, it is big rig proven and has done me well for the life of the truck. Its a small price to pay for some insurance, a $50 case of howes has lasted me 3 years so far.
as for a sulfer substitute, your truck will do just fine with the new ULSD, i would only worry if i was running a 1st or 2nd Gen truck.

There is no doubt the lubricity in the fuel sold in the US is lower than Cummins and Bosch ask for. Removing the sulphur also removes lubricity.
What you can do is add lubrication back to the fuel.
Some will say they have run 12 bazillion miles without adding anything, and that may be so. Maybe they get better fuel, or their injector pump was made perfectly. Others will have a pump go out at 5,000 miles.
All it costs is money to add lubrication back to the fuel. I think of it as giving your pump and injectors the best possible shot at lasting as long as they can....

Ok, so now it is better that I use the sulfur sub? The sulfur substitute claims to lubricate the proper fuel parts. I'm just goin' to assume it does, ha ha. Like I said, I'm just lookin' to do the best for my truck. If it helps it helps, if it doesn't, it's a $4 loss per fill up
