Are you talking about a gauge you can't see in the cab? I am not sure there is a point.

Yes, one where you can just see what it should be when the hood is open. I was just thinking if there is a setup. That is all

Lot's of options for that, just not sure what it would show you? Idle psi is only 1 indication and not the biggest fear, you would never know about a gradual loss of pressure while driving until it was too late.

Why waste your time and money on a guage that you cannot see while driving. It will be no more useful than the fake guage in the dash. You need to be able to monitor the pressure as you are driving.

Proof is in my saving a Cummins 5.9 at work when I noticed the oil pressure was dropping from normal on a real guage. Took it to the mechanics and the crankcase was full of diesel. I saved the engine. I then added a real guage to mine.

Others on this forum and another that I subscribe too have destroyed an engine because of diesel in the fuel and they did not catch it in time.
