Ditch extra fuel lubricant if I run B-20 on 06?

I've read on here that B-20 is a good cleaner of fuel system and keeps it clean. Isn't it also a very good lubricant? If I run it, I can skip the 2 stroke or Power service right? I know some people run nothing but straight ULSD so this question is for others.

Yes you can skip the PS, even in a B5 blend, lubrication characteristics are improved over 30% compared to ULSD. Your doing your engine a favor running Bio...

I may be wrong but the book calls for B5 only.

What is the Biodiesel we're seeing at the Shell stations around here, it says "up to 20% Biodiesel" on the pump? Can you ever tell what your getting?

You might check with Cummins. They recently changed and approved B20 for our trucks. You could do a news search on their website for the info.

Yes Cummins has OK'ed the use of 20% Bio diesel but Dodge has not yet approved any thing above 5% and I can't find anyone at Dodge who will say its OK to use 20% Bio fuel. If you don't have a warranty you can use anything you want but if you still have one be careful as Dodge can care less what Cummins thinks or Ok's when it comes to Dodge warranty work and repair.

Bio will not screw anything up, the reason the warranties don't allow it is because of cold weather use. Bio gels considerably warmer than petrol fuel does. We all know what that will do to an injector pump. Run B100, I do, nothing but good vibrations!

Just check your fuel filter OFTEN... The Bio I ran is not as clean as the ULSD (B20 from Shell) I mixed it... to about B-5-10. Runs smooth no need for added lube, but fuel filter changes at every oil change would be a good Idea ... ALSO drain the fuel filter into a glass container ans check the amount of brown water like crud ya get.

I was surprised. One tank yielded about 3-5 cc of brown crud. I have 15k miles and used 3 filters to date... only water/brown crud was from BIO. Our Bio B-20 has a cloudy bluish tint to it.

I really don't trust it yet.. not standardized enough yet. All it takes is one bad tank to cost ya big $

Thanks for the input guys. Guess I'll change and check my fuel filter more often.

Bio not being standardized and can be different from batch to batch is one reason Dodge will not allow anything more then B5. Until it gets better we may see a lot more problems like they had in MN the past 2 winters.
