Diff. sevice intervals?

How does DC figure these service intervals out. Never change it if not towing hard and every 15,000 if towing. This is synthetic fluid how in the world would it be worn out by 15,000 miles? Has anybody ever sent a sample in for testing? Is this just a case of CYA for DC, because the same AAM axle iis in the dmax and they don't have a service schedule near as conservative as ours.

Especially if you look at the fluid, and the color, etc. looks just fine.
