Diesel Cheaper than Gas Today

Me thinks daniel meant $2.299 a gallon for unleaded regular??

Diesel should come down a tad or at least stabilize while gas is going to go up with the summer driving season. Then in the fall we'll start all over again.
Those of us who were around and buying gas in '81 remember the high prices. Compared to today's wages and '81 wages, gas was equivelant to $3.12 a gallon in today's prices. I was drag racing back then.

re: 5% less on fuel
Just and FYI for everyone.
I just got a credit card from Advanta that gives me 5% back on fuel purchases. This is not one of those "up to" rebates. It's 5% that is issued as a check at the end of each year. No annual fees. I read the fine print pretty thoroughly to make sure it was actually worthwhile since I fill up 2-3 times a week.
It is a business card, and I'm not sure if its available generally, but it would be worth checking out.

I think diesel was $2.69 and premium is around $2.49. It takes almost $80 to fill'er up. Luckily I don't drive it much, wifes car gets better mileage and I drive about 35 miles each way. Would rather drive the truck but just can't justify it.

Diesel was finally the same price as mid-grade gas here recently, but now gas has dropped back down and diesel is in between mid-grade and premium. At least it's not more than all the gas flavors anymore...
Today's prices (including 3¢ discount), and what I paid last fillup:
Diesel - 2.569
RU - 2.449
MU - 2.549
PU - 2.649
Interesting to note, I was on the delta the other day and noticed RED diesel was 2.849 on the water... compared to their gas price of $3.18 that's not too bad...

Bush isn't running the economy so his bank account gets fatter. I believe that as president, you have to turn over any interest you have in private companies to a neutral 3rd party to run while you are in office, so you really have no say over what happens. And you have financially disclosure in public records. For anyone to see.
Stupid to vote for Bush? Because we don't agree with or see things your way? Just like anyone who drives a Ford or Chevy is STUPID. Because that's not the truck you drive.
No, we can't hurt you... you need brain function to register hurt....
TAS05CTD610: $2.35 here in Newport. And mid-grade is $2.41... gas prices are rising and diesel seems to be holding, at least for now. Though, one place just raised their diesel to $2.53. I suspect they'll hang onto that tank for quite some time.

Easy now... no reason that this needs to become a pissing contest or a political war. We've all got our own opinions that we can very well state without name calling.
Personally, I have a real issue with the lack of bio-diesel knowledge, research and promotion, not only with researchers, but the leadership of the country, the Companies like DC and the general public. Why are we not pushing Bio as hard as we're pushing the development of these little hybrids? Doesn't make sense to me. The real problems are the trucks, working vehicles, and SUV's that suck fuel. Its not the Honda Accords and little Toyota's anyway. We need to be pushing a fuel source that can be more easily applied to the bigger vehicles that are the biggest problem in this regard.

I agree with dgm. The hybrid cars are mainly found in bigger cities where it does make sense for kids and town people anyway. I also think biodiesel is the future. Politics comes to mind why biodiesel is not making the news, same reason fuel has went through the roof in the last 18 months.

...yes, its about politics. IF we start growing our own fuel as a primary source, what will the oil companies make money on? But, if the public, the farmers, the long-haulers start demanding bio-diesel, some one will catch on and things will really get started.
